“With great enthusiasm, we announce that we are finalizing the agreement with Xplored to make Sword & Sorcery one of the first games to be launched on the Teburu platform. Today, Sword & Sorcery is one of the most popular fantasy adventure boardgames, thanks to its depth and the beauty of the components, but we are aware that it is a game not suitable for novice players, "said Roberto Di Meglio, Director of Production. by Ares Games, "It is therefore exciting to think of expanding the range, combining the traditional physical game with a" phygital "version compatible with Teburu, which simplifies the gaming experience and the learning of the rules, without losing anything of the strengths of the game - like the intelligence of the opponents and the refinement of the combat system - and indeed opening, thanks to the digital elements of the experience, new dimensions to enrich it ".

Regarding the partnership, Davide Garofalo (CEO, Xplored ) states:

“Ares Games and Roberto Di Meglio have been fervent supporters of our vision since the first concept of Teburu. We really like Ares Games' approach to board game design and production, and we love the deep and tactical gameplay that Sword & Sorcery offers. We are thrilled to contribute to the evolution of a much-loved title, and our team is working hard to make the Teburu version of the game something both longtime fans and new audiences alike can love. ”

Teburu, a revolutionary platform

Thanks to the platform, the games are more advanced and enriched, easy to learn and intuitive to play, more engaging and immersive, as well as allowing you to have fun with physical board games with friends even remotely.

The above features can already be seen in Teburu's debut title, “The Bad Karmas and the Curse of the Zodiac,” which will arrive on Kickstarter on March 15th.

Teburu Developer Partners with Swords & Sorcery Publisher Ares Games

The magic comes alive off, yet on, the tabletop. Today, Xplored the developers of the Teburu game platform announced a partnership with Ares Games. Ares is the publisher behind the massively popular fantasy board game, Swords and Sorcery. Xplored and Ares Games are partnering to bring Swords and Sorcery to the Teburu game platform, bringing the tabletop game even more immersion and flare. A press release about the partnership provides the perspectives of both Xplored and Ares Games and gives fans some insight into the partnership.

Teburu Swords and Sorcery

The Teburu game platform uses electronic sensors within a board. These sensors track the placement of minis, pieces, and more so that every move is on record. While players can focus on the game, the system takes care of rules, enemy behavior and story events. Furthermore the system is able to handle all of this by using specialized miniatures, dice, and lighting systems that relay information to players.

“Expanding the S&S range with a Teburu-based ‘phygital’ version is a great opportunity to simplify the game experience and make Sword & Sorcery easier to learn and faster to play, while enhancing further the key strengths of Sword & Sorcery’s deep combat system and sophisticated AI.” Says Ares Games Director of Production, Roberto Di Meglio.

Essentially the Teburu system is making Swords and Sorcery easier for new players. Additionally the game becomes more engaging. With Teburur system gameplay also seems faster. Rules are given right on screen. No more flipping through rule books. Last year’s sneak peek trailer at the system also gives players a general idea into how Teburu works.

The partnership between Xplored and Ares Games will open up a line for a Teburu Sword and Sorcery line. Yet, for now, Xplored’s first Teburu project Bad Karmas and the Curse of the Zodiacs has had launched on Kickstarter.
