On the occasion of AnimeJapan 2022, in progress in these hours in Japan, we learn the release period and details in relation to the special animated by Dr. Stone, inspired by the manga of the same name and recently concluded written by Riichiro Inagaki and drawn by Boichi, all focused on the character of Ryusui.



The animated special will be broadcast on Japanese TV stations in Tokyo MX and BS11 in July 2021. The events, in addition, take place after the conclusion of the second season (STONE WARS) which aired last year.


We remind you that, among other future projects, Shueisha has also announced a new manga chapter made by the same authors mentioned in the release in conjunction with the animated special.

Dr. Stone ended on March 7, 2022 with chapter 232. The series starring the scientist Senku had entered its final narrative arc last September 2021. In Japan, Shueisha will publish the volume number 25 on March 4, 2022 and the final volume, on the 26th, on July 4, 2022.


Dr. Stone: manga and anime

Dr. Stone is a manga written by Riichiro Inagaki (Eyeshield 21) and illustrated by Boichi (Sun Ken Rock) . In Japan it is published by Shueisha on the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since March 2017 and currently has 23 volumes; in Italy it is underway for Star Comics with 18 volumes released so far (we invite you to retrieve the aforementioned number here on Amazon if you have not already done so).




Several thousand years after a mysterious phenomenon that has turned all of humanity to stone, Senku Ishigami, an extraordinarily intelligent boy and a lover of science, wakes up. Faced with a world of stone and the total collapse of civilization, Senku decides to use science to rebuild the world. Starting with his very strong childhood friend Taiju Oki, who woke up at the same time, they will begin to rebuild civilization from nothing ... An extraordinary adventure is about to begin through two million years of scientific history from the Stone Age to the present day!

In March 2020 Shueisha released the manga spin-off inspired by the manga titled Dr. Stone reboot: Byakuya ending with 9 total chapters. The manga was written and drawn by Boichi and the screenwriter Inagaki took care of supervising the dialogues and the reactions of the characters. The story of the spin-off told the story of the father of the protagonist Senku, Byakuya Ishigami, and is also available in Italy for Star Comics from March 2021 (find it here if you are hungry for scientific adventures).

Produced from TMS Entertainment, the manga currently boasts two animated series: the first consisting of 24 episodes and the second, entitled STONE WARS, of 12 episodes. Both were simulcast, in the original language with subtitles, by Crunchyroll in Italy.






Dr. Stone: Ryusui Release Date Confirmed for July

The Dr. Stone: Ryusui anime special is coming this July!

Dr. Stone is finally returning with an awesome new project. The anime special Dr. Stone: Ryusui has just been confirmed for a July 2022 release date!

The announcement was made during the Dr. Stone: Ryusui BLUE stage panel at Anime Japan 2022 which was attended by voice actors Yusuke Kobayashi, Gen Sato, and Kengo Kawanishi. They were joined by Ryota Suzuki who will play Ryusui Nanami in the upcoming anime special. In addition to that, the first images from the project were shared during the event. Check them out below.

Dr. Stone: Ryusui will follow Ryusui Nanami, an accomplished sailor and the Heir to the Nanami Conglomerate. When he first appeared in the anime, Ryusui is still petrified but he would be revived by Senku Ishigami who is impressed with his expertise in sailing. The anime special is also expected to bring back Yusuke Kobayashi as Senku, Gen Sato as Chrome, and Kengo Kawanishi as Gen Asagiri.

Fans are undoubtedly delighted that Dr. Stone: Ryusui will finally be broadcast on Tokyo MX and BS11 this July. After all, the manga recently concluded and it will still be a long wait for the anime's third season. Luckily, fans will be getting some awesome new content this summer.

Dr. Stone creator Riichiro Inagaki recently spoke up about the manga's conclusion to offer some hope to his fans. His message points out how the manga started and how it ended and Inagaki even left a little tease about Dr. Stone's future.

'With the jump released today, Dr. STONE will reach the final story!!! Just 5 years. The story that started with the 14th issue ends with the 14th issue. Thank you for your patronage and support for 5 years !! And ... it's not over yet. It's just going to continue!!!' Inagaki wrote.

Dr. Stone: Ryusui will premiere in July 2022.
