Pokémon Legends: Arceus – How to change Pokémon

Changing Pokémon has always been pretty easy — you visit a Pokémon Center, boot up the PC, and instantly gain access to each and every ‘mon you’ve ever caught. The thing about Pokémon Legends: Arceus is that it takes place long before the invention of computers, and so the method for substituting party members with Pokémon you have in storage is a little bit different. There are also no Pokémon Centers.

Fortunately, changing your party in Pokémon Legends Arceus is just as easy as it ever was. It may not be immediately obvious how you’re supposed to go about it, but once you know what you’re up to, it should be a breeze.

Whether you want switch out your starter for a newly caught Alpha Pokémon or you’ve finally managed to find yourself an Eevee, swapping party members in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is quick and painless.

Here’s everything you need to know about</a> how to change Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus – How to change Pokémon

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, there are two different ways to switch Pokémon depending on where you are.

How to change Pokémon in Jubilife Village

If you’re in Jubilife Village and want to change your Pokémon, all you need to do is head over to the Pastures. This is the ranch-like area tucked away to the side of the village — it’s pretty much impossible to miss given that about 50 of your Pokémon are wandering around behind the fences.

When you arrive at the Pastures, speak to the woman by the main gate. She’ll ask if you want to see all of your Pokémon — once you say yes, you’ll be able to switch out your party members for Pokémon in the Pastures, which are basically just Legends: Arceus’ version of boxes from older games.

How to change Pokémon in the field

Switching Pokémon in the field is just as easy. While you don’t have access to the Pastures, the guy beside Professor Laventon — who is also responsible for changing the time of day in the field — is able to change them for you.

If you’re ever out in the field and want to add a recently caught ‘mon to your team, all you need to do is press the ‘-‘ button to bring up the map and then press the X button to fast-travel back to camp. Simply speak to the man standing to the left of Professor Laventon and you can change Pokémon to your heart’s content.
